iPad Gets Early FaceTime Support via SSH Hack [Video] !!

Activate Facetime Video-calling on iPad (jailbroken) – Have a jailbroken iPad? That’s good ! Why?
Because you can enable FaceTime video calling. Yeah, you heard that true. But how to activate/enable Facetime on iPad while it has no front camera? Apple iPad that is currently available in the market, has no front camera while the upcoming iPad 2 will have. The iPad 2 is rumored will be equipped with front camera which of course Facetime supported.

However, for old iPad users can still try facetime using Intell. What is Intell exactly? Intel is a simple hack that will install iPod Touch 4G FaceTime app on the iPad, even it has no front camera.

So how could Facetime conducted on iPad then? Yup, so you can make a facetime call to other Facetime users so users will only hear the voice without the video.

And here it goes the tutorial..

1- First thing first, jailbreak your iPad (I’m sure you did)

2- Download OpenSSH via Cydia on your iPad. Install it and reboot your iPad.

3- Use following setting according on what computer do you use:

Cyberduck – Mac
Server: The IP address of your iPad. Settings >> WiFi >>
Username: root
Password: alpine
Protocol: SFTP (SSH File Transfer Protocol)

WinSCP – Windows
Hostname: The IP address of your iPad. Setting >> WiFi >>
User name: root
Password: alpine
Protocol: SCP

4- Once all settings are correct, connect your iPad with computer via SSH. Then SSH to /System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/.

5- Rename Conference.framework to ConferenceiPad.framework and IMCore.frameworkto IMCoreiPad.framework

6- Upload the Conference.framework and IMCore.frameworks from the iPod Touch 4 or iPhone 4 to /System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/

7- Navigate to /System/Library/CoreServices/SpringBoard.app/ and download theK48AP.plist for editing.

8- Add following:

venice

under the capabilities array, then upload the modified version to SpringBoard.app on the iPad replacing the unmodified version

9- Upload the ConferenceRegistrationSettings.bundle from the iDevice 4 to/System/Library/PreferenceBundles/

10- Navigate to /System/Library/Frameworks/AVFoundation.framework/K48/ and rename AVCaptureSession.plist to AVCaptureSession.bak2

11- Upload the AVCaptureSession.plist from the iPod Touch 4/System/Library/Frameworks/AVFoundation.framework/N81/ or/System/Library/Frameworks/AVFoundation.framework/N90/ from the iPhone 4

14- Navigate to /System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/Celestial.framework/K48/ and rename AVCapture.plist to AVCapture.bak2

15- Upload the AVCapture.plist from the iPod Touch 4/System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/Celestial.framework/N81/ or/System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/Celestial.framework/N90/ from the iPhone 4

16- To get the sounds woking navigate to /System/Library/Audio/UISounds/ and putvc~ended.caf, vc~invitation-accepted.caf, and vc~ringing.caf from the iDevice 4 into the iPad’sUISounds folder

17- Navigate to /Applications/Preferences.app/ and download the Settings.plist

18- Remove the requieredCapabilites key and its accompanying array from item number 26, save, then replace the version on the iPad with modified version

19- Edit the info.plist in the MobilePhone.app that is from the iDevice 4. ChangeCFBundleDisplayName~ipod to CFBundleDisplayName~ipad, CFBundleIconFiles~ipod toCFBundleIconFiles~ipad, CFBundleURLTypes~ipod to CFBundleURLTypes~ipad,UILaunchImageFile~ipod to UILaunchImageFile~ipad, and add a 2 to the UIDeivceFamily array

20- Replace the Default~ipod.png with this file, then upload the MobilePhone.app to the iPad’s /Applications/ folder

21- Navigate to /System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/TelephonyUI.Framework/ and rename bottombarknobgreen.png to bottombarknobgreenT.png

22- Reboot and enjoy FaceTime on your first-gen iPad.
