iPhone 4 antenna better than iPhone 3G

Anandtech has done some tests on iPhone 4 antenna problem, and it seems better than the iPhone 3G problem that was found last year when iPhone 3G announced. Here's some conclusions that Anandtech has discovered through the tests
Holding the iPhone 4 without a case, in your left hand, crossing the black strip can result in a worst case drop of 24 dBm in signal. [...] The fact of the matter is that either the most sensitive region of the antenna should have an insulative coating, or everyone should use a case. For a company that uses style heavily as a selling point, the latter isn’t an option. And the former would require an unprecedented admission of fault on Apple’s part.
Another part:
iPhone 4 performs much better than the 3GS in situations where signal is very low, at -113 dBm (1 bar). Previously, dropping this low all but guaranteed that calls would drop, fail to be placed, and data would no longer be transacted at all. I can honestly say that I’ve never held onto so many calls and data simultaneously on 1 bar at -113 dBm as I have with the iPhone 4, so it’s readily apparent that the new baseband hardware is much more sensitive compared to what was in the 3GS. The difference is that reception is massively better on the iPhone 4 in actual use.

Planetbeing makes iPhone 4 Exploit Jailbreak possible

Planetbeing, one of the iPhone Dev Team has just posted on his twitter account that it's possible to develop exploits that could work on the future and not only on the iOS 4. This Jailbreak tool may be Comex's tool "Spirit" which was updated to fix iTunes 9.2 from couple of days.
Having the iPhone 4 bootrom makes it possible to develop exploits that are immune to firmware upgrades (unlike the Spirit family of jbs)
Early this week, I posted that iPhone 4 has been Jailbroken by planetbeing and we saw the first screenshot of Cydia on iPhone 4 by MuscleNerd. This jailbreak was userland but today planetbeing made it possible to develop Spirit Exploit Jailbreak for iPhone 4 and iOS 4.

Don't make as a crazy and ask about the Release time, there's no time for release but I'm sure it's soon and You can stay Tuned on Twitter or Facebook.

People think that Multitasking waste the battery life of iPhone but Steve Jobs has replied an Italian user telling him "Trust the iPhone"

As you see in the screenshot above, Alain was asking Jobs about a way to close all Apps in Background instead of closing every App individually to save battery life. Steve jobs replied that he don't need to close background Apps to save battery life!

iOS 4 for iPad won't happen until November

According to AppleInsider which reported that iPad users won't get iOS 4 till November, For people who wishing iOS 4 and it's great freatures on iPad must wait till November. At least there will be iOS 4 for iPad.
Here's the important part from the report:
Apple is doing "all the technical production of iAds, and telling agencies it will take six to eight weeks to produce an ad after the creative is produced," the report stated.

The July 1 opening of iAd is a date selected by Apple, and "doesn't necessarily coincide with the objectives of the marketers themselves," the report said. Getting ad placements on iPad, "the device considered most promising for advertisers," won't happen until November.
iOS 4 was launched this month for iPhone and iPod Touch owners on June 21st and it brings a lot of awesome features including the most popular feature "Multitasking".

Apple’s reception issue Documents Leaked

Antenna issues, The well known problem in the iPhone 4. Signal is going down when being held on hand? So You will hold the iPhone 4 the way Steve wants you to, or else - Boy Genius has reported what being told to you when you call Apple and complain about your new phone
1. Keep all of the positioning statements in the BN handy – your tone when delivering this information is important.
a. The iPhone 4’s wireless performance is the best we have ever shipped. Our testing shows that iPhone 4’s overall antenna performance is better than iPhone 3GS.
b. Gripping almost any mobile phone in certain places will reduce its reception. This is true of the iPhone 4, the iPhone 3GS, and many other phones we have tested. It is a fact of life in the wireless world.
c. If you are experiencing this on your iPhone 3GS, avoid covering the bottom-right side with your hand.
d. If you are experiencing this on your iPhone 4, avoid covering the black strip in the lower-left corner of the metal band.
e. The use of a case or Bumper that is made out of rubber or plastic may improve wireless performance by keeping your hand from directly covering these areas.
2. Do not perform warranty service. Use the positioning above for any customer questions or concerns.
3. Don’t forget YOU STILL NEED to probe and troubleshoot. If a customer calls about their reception while the phone is sitting on a table (not being held) it is not the metal band.
4. ONLY escalate if the issue exists when the phone is not held AND you cannot resolve it.
5. We ARE NOT appeasing customers with free bumpers – DON’T promise a free bumper to customers.

iOS 4.0.1 will be Released Soon, Save SHSH before it's too Late!

Apple is about to push their new firmware iOS 4.0.1, This is according to AppleInsider which posted that iOS 4.0.1 is coming on Monday to fix some issues and bugs found by iPhone 4 users. This update basically may be hardware only and no Software update!

This is your Last change to Save SHSH before Apple pushes iOS 4.0.1 so for All iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, iPhone 3G, iPod touch 2G/3G Owners using iOS 4, You have to Save SHSH before it's too late, I already posted guide how to save SHSH of iOS 4 using TinyUmbrella posted below:

Congratulations, iPhone 4 has been Jailbroken

MuscleNerd, Planetbeing, p0sixninja, and chpwn in help of Comex, All are back again to kick iPhone 4 with Jailbreak, it seems like "userland" Jailbreak taken from the newly Spirit Jailbreak tool update. They All posted some news on their twitter accounts, You can find full details after the jump..@planetbeing on his twitter account:
Think I’m the first one I know about to get a root shell (and SSH) on iPhone 4, using poor @comex’s code (since he has no iPhone 4)
@MuscleNerd on his twitter account has posted tweets showing screenshot of jailbroken iPhone 4:
Congrats to @comex for another userland JB http://is.gd/d5N6I <– hi-res Cydia via @planetbeing & @chpwn iPhone4s

@MuscleNerd another Screenshoot:
Obligatory full root shell screenshot on iPhone4: http://is.gd/d60iY Thanks to new @comex userland JB

Oh, Even Jailbreak will be available soon but Unlock will not, Because iPhone 4 uses a new baseband which require rewrite of Ultrasn0w so Don't expect Unlock Soon!
The DevTeam and others have been checking through the iPhone 4, and have noticed the baseband runs a completely different OS than on previous models. The iPhone 3G and 3G[S] both ran Nucleus OS on the PMB8878 baseband CPU (aka XGold 608), where the iPhone 2G ran the PMB8876 (aka S-Gold 2). iPhone 4 uses the PMB9800, or X-Gold 618 – running a separate OS – ThreadX, an RTOS by ExpressLogic.
@p0sixninja answering a person telling him that Jailbreak can't be released in this shape due to some of Apple’s proprietary code that found in the iPhone 4:

@i_Enthusiast the jailbreak shown is a more of a stepping stone for us, it can’t be released because it includes some of apples software
@planetbeing also told that it can't be released soon:
Don’t want to speak for @comex, but afaik no one has breathed a word about release date and what we have right now is nowhere ready.
So what to do While waiting for the Jailbreak and Unlock,  I will be covering all news in Meantime, So you can follow me on Twitter or on Facebook and You will get it on your Doors!

How to: Save SHSH Blobs (ECID SHSH) of iOS 4 [Windows & Mac]

As I told you that TinyUmbrella has been Updated to support iOS 4 but I didn't post the guide, So Here's a guide to Save SHSH Blob on iOS 4 as you saved it on iPhone 3.1.3 and iPad 3.2 but was Using AutoSHSH and Umbrella Firmware. Follow the step by step Guide below..
What's ECID SHSH?
ECID SHSH is a unique signature which is checked against Apple servers whenever you decide to restore the firmware on any of your Device. Once a new firmware is released, Apple stops signing the older firmware, hence making it impossible to restore back to the older firmware from iTunes.

And Why Should I Save SHSH Blobs?
By Using a SHSH blob, you can downgrade or restore back to the older firmware. This is important because if you don’t have your SHSH blob saved, and accidently update to new firmware, you’ll loose your jailbreak and furthermore, you wont be able to downgrade back to older firmware to re-jailbreak your device.

Steps:
Step 1: Download TinyUmbrella V4.00.06 (Mac / Windows / Linux) at the end of page.
Step 2: Make sure you are running iTunes on your Device.
Step 3: Now Connect your Device to Computer via USB
Step 4: Launch TinyUmbrella and Click on Save SHSH, Now your SHSH blob will be saved on Cydia Server by default or on your computer if you have chosen to.

Here's the important part from AppleInsider post:
Readers report that Apple’s tech support forums originally confirmed that a iOS 4.0.1 software fix addressing the issue would ship early next week (as early as Monday), before the comments were subsequently taken down along with all the other related discussion about the matter.
The fix is expected to address a issue in iOS 4 related to radio frequency calibration of the baseband. Readers who saw the original forum discussions say that the issue is believed to occur when switching frequencies; because the lag is allegedly not calibrated correctly, it results in the device reporting "no service" rather than switching to the frequency with the best signal to noise ratio.

From the most discoverd issues and problems in the iPhone 4 is losing signal while holding it in your Hand, and Steve Jobs answered an iPhone 4 user telling Home "Hold it in diffrent Way"

Steve Jobs to iPhone 4 Owners: Just avoid holding it in that way

The newly issue/ bug found in the iPhone 4 which is Losing Signal while Holding iPhone 4 has been Discovered yestarday and was discovered in the iPhone 3GS by 2008. So Jobs decided to reply on of his iPhone 4 owners about this issue telling them to Avoid holding it in that way!

Also, he replied C.K. of SampletheWeb, The official Response was
Gripping any mobile phone will result in some attenuation of its antenna performance, with certain places being worse than others depending on the placement of the antennas. This is a fact of life for every wireless phone. If you ever experience this on your iPhone 4, avoid gripping it in the lower left corner in a way that covers both sides of the black strip in the metal band, or simply use one of many available cases.

iPhone 4 Teardown Confirmed 512 MB, Also Corning Gorilla Glass

iFixit has successfully managed to obtain iPhone 4 Teardown in progress, the iPhone 4 was not expected to be Released today early but a lot of customers got their iPhone shipped, Check what iFixit says and Also one of the Readers of Macrumors has sent them a screenshot for the iPhone Digonastic App diagnostic app Checkup run on a new iPhone
We have confirmed that the iPhone’s A4 processor has 512 MB RAM, unlike the iPad’s more limited 256 MB. This decision may have been made fairly late in Apple’s development cycle, because early leaked prototype phones only had 256 MB.

Update 1: Fixit says Retina Display is Corning Gorilla Glass!
The front glass panel of the iPhone is constructed of Corning Gorilla Glass, a chemically strengthened alkali-aluminosilicate thin sheet glass that is reported to be 20 times stiffer and 30 times harder than plastic.
Gorilla Glass holds many advantages as the iPhone 4’s front panel including its high resistance to wear and increased strength from a strengthening process.

Keep updated on Twitter for updates when iFixit finish the Tear Down :)

Here's What They are Saying about iPhone 4?

iPhone 4 was Delivered Early today and you can Check our first look on the iPhone 4 for Photos, Unboxing and videos of the newly released iPhone 4 posted here. A lot of Companies and Sites has reviews iPhone 4 as Wall Street Journal, to USA Today, to New York Times, to Engadget, So you check their reviews after the jump..

Pogue – NYTimes
Now, the iPhone is no longer the undisputed king of app phones. In particular, the technically inclined may find greater flexibility and choice among its Android rivals, like the HTC Incredible and Evo. They’re more complicated, and their app store not as good, but they’re loaded with droolworthy features like turn-by-turn GPS instructions, speech recognition that saves you typing, removable batteries and a choice of cell networks.
If what you care about, however, is size and shape, beauty and battery life, polish and pleasure, then the iPhone 4 is calling your name.
But you probably didn’t need a review to tell you that.
Joshua Topolsky – Engadget
the iPhone 4 is the best smartphone on the market right now. The combination of gorgeous new hardware, that amazing display, upgraded cameras, and major improvements to the operating system make this an extremely formidable package. Yes, there are still pain points that we want to see Apple fix, and yes, there are some amazing alternatives to the iPhone 4 out there. But when it comes to the total package — fit and finish in both software and hardware, performance, app selection, and all of the little details that make a device like this what it is — we think it’s the cream of the current crop. We won’t argue that a lot of this is a matter of taste — some people will just prefer the way Android or Symbian works to the iPhone, and others will be on the lookout for a hardware keyboard or a particular asset that the iPhone 4 lacks — but in terms of the total picture, it’s tough to deny that Apple has moved one step past the competition with this phone. Of course, in the hyper-accelerated smartphone market where the Next Big Thing seems to always be just around the corner, it’s anyone’s guess how long they keep that edge.
Mossberg – The Wall Street Journal
Just as with its predecessors, I can’t recommend this new iPhone for voice calling for people who experience poor AT&T reception, unless they are willing to carry a second phone on a network that works better for them.
For everyone else, however, I’d say that Apple has built a beautiful smartphone that works well, adds impressive new features and is still, overall, the best device in its class.
Edward Baig – USA Today
As with previous iPhones, the latest model breaks new ground. FaceTime video calling on the iPhone 4 is one of those cool "seeing is believing" features, and it arrives on top of several across-the-board enhancements. And iOS 4 is a mostly terrific software upgrade.
Cutting through the hype, Apple has given longtime diehards, and first-time iPhone owners, plenty to cheer about.

TinyUmbrella updated to Support iOS 4

Notcom, the developer of Umbrella Firmware and TinyUmbrella has updated Tiny Umbrella to bring Support for iOS 4, Now you can Save SHSH of your iOS 4 after you jailbreak your Device. This tool also brings support for Windows, Mac, and Linux.
If you don't know what's TinyUmbrella, here's a quick look:
  • Umbrella – The tool simply performs the same challenge request that iTunes does during an iDevice restore. The difference is that it saves the results in a single shsh file. This file will give you the ability, to restore back to a previous firmware indefinitely
  • TinyTSS - is a small java app that acts as your very own signature service. When iTunes verifies your restore for your iDevice, it ‘phones home’ to see if you are allowed to restore to the version you are requesting. With TinyTSS + the shsh blob file(s) you obtained with Umbrella, you will be able to restore to the version of those shsh files forever!
  • TinyUmbrella – merge the two tools described above
This version of iOS 4 supports iPhone 3GS, iPod Touch 2G, iPod Touch 3G and iPad. You can Download TinyUmbrella from the Links below:
