iOS 4.2.1 is Live, Available to Download Right Now [Direct Links]

Go get it! Available through iTunes. Apple has just released iOS 4.2.1 for iPhone, iPod touch and iPad.

The update brings lots of new features as AirPlay, new Multitasking animation for iPad, new Youtube upload options, new iTunes icon, new SMS ringtones, and some bug fixes & improvements.
To update to iOS 4.2.1, all you need to do is to connect your iPhone or iPod touch with your computer via USB and start iTunes. You should now see a message as shown below. Simply click on “Download and Install” button to get on to the new firmware. You can also take a look on my previous post for complete feature guide to Apple’s iOS 4.2 update.

iOS 4.2 Software Update for iPad
This update contains over 100 new features for iPad including support for multitasking, folders, unified mail inbox, Game Center, AirPrint, AirPlay, and many system improvements. It is highly recommended for all iPad users.

iOS 4.2 for iPad includes the following:

• Multitasking support for third-party apps
- Multitasking user interface to quickly move between apps, adjust screen brightness, control playback, lock screen-rotation, and manage print jobs
- Support for audio apps to play in the background
- VoIP apps can receive and maintain calls in the background or when device is asleep
- Apps can monitor location and take action while running in the background
- Alerts and messages can be pushed to apps using push and local notifications

Apple Releases iOS 4.1 for iPhone and iPod Touch

iOS 4.1 was announced last week in Apple's press conference on September 1st then Apple released iOS 4.1 GM to developers. Today Apple has just released the final version of iOS 4.1 for iPhone 4 / 3GS / 3G and iPod Touch 3GS / 2G free to public via iTunes. Here's some new features and bug fixes as covered before

Apple Releases iOS 4.0.2 for iPhone, iOS 3.2.2 for iPad to Patch JailbreakMe PDF Exploit

Apple has just released iOS 4.0.2 for all iPhones, iPod touches, and iOS 3.2.2 for iPad to patch the PDF exploit which was used by JailbreakMe to jailbreak all iOS devices on iOS 4.0.1. If you want to keep your jailbreak and unlock, you better not update to this latest firmware now or you will be out of luck for long. Incase you have decided not to update, make sure you use PDF Loading Warner app which will make your web browsing safe. Of course if you care about security of your iPhone, then you can go ahead and update to the latest firmware from iTunes.

To update to iOS 4.0.2 for iPhone, and iOS 3.2.2 for iPad, all you need to do is to connect your iPhone/iPod touch/iPad with your computer via USB and start iTunes. You should now see a message as shown below. Simply click on “Download and Install” button to get on to the new firmware.

iOS 3.2.1 has been Released for iPad, Don't Update, it Kill Spirit

iPad jailbreakers do not rush to click that update button. We will keep you updated. Stay tuned…
Here's the new features:
  • improved WiFi connectivity
  • fixed an issue that could prevent copy and paste of single-page PDF attachments in Mail
  • Addressed an issue that could cause video playback to freeze
  • improved reliability of video-out when using iPad Dock Connector to VGA Adapter
  • Added Bing as an option for Safari’s search field

iOS 4 is now available for Download [Direct Links + Full Guide]

+Apple has finally released the much waited firmware iOS 4 for public, iOS 4 is available for iPhone 3GS and iPod Touch 3G with full features including Multitasking, But for iPhone 3G and iPod Touch 2G, some features are not supported.

Note 1: When you download the required firmware below, you can shift-click (on PC) or option-click (on Mac) the Restore or Update Buttons in iTunes.
Note 2: Your browser may change the ipsw-file into a zip-file. In that case, just rename it to end in .ipsw and iTunes will accept it.
